Join us at the Battle Creek Regional History Museum for a special presentation by cemetery preservation experts Bobbie Mathis and Andrew Noland. They will cover some of the history of cemeteries, the preservation of historic tombstones, monuments and markers. They will also discuss in detail repair methods, restoration as will as symbology that you might encounter in historic cemeteries. Bobbie Mathis and Andrew Noland have repaired and restored thousands of historic tombstones in cemeteries across Michigan and in surrounding states. Kellogg Community College invites kids and their families to an evening of free trick-or-treating and Halloween fun during the return of KCC’s award-winning Bruin Boo event on campus in October. Bruin Boo is a family-friendly, free event for kids of all ages that will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, on KCC’s campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek. During the event, KCC students and employees alike will be “dressed to impress in their Halloween best” to hand out candy and other giveaways to community trick-or-treaters at dozens of stations on campus. We will be shutting down Michigan Ave from Hamblin Ave to Capital Ave, as well as a portion of Jackson St. Sunday October 27th from 5-8pm. This is a free event for everyone. Symphony 2: American Veteran Saturday, November 2, 2024, 7:30 pm WK Kellogg Auditorium Battle Creek Community Chorus Harper Creek High School Honors Choir Kellogg Choral Union Lakeview High School Chamber Choir Pennfield High School Choir The University of Olivet Chorale Patrick Roberson, photographer Throughout history, music has conveyed patriotism like no other medium could, and the Battle Creek Symphony is taking the stage in honor of America’s servicemen and servicewomen. The orchestra will perform patriotic favorites such as Battle Hymn of the Republic, Requiem for a Soldier from Band of Brothers, and the Armed Forces Salute. The symphony will be joined by eight choirs from throughout the region to send a unified salute to veterans. This multimedia event includes a photo slideshow with photographs of our local veterans.
