The Haunted Scare Affair

The Woman’s Co-op is hosting their annual Scare Affair Friday October 20th and Saturday October 21st at Leila Arboretum. Guided tours begin at 8pm and run until midnight. This year the carnival is pulling into town. Join us for a thrilling night of performances that are sure to kill you! (oops... we meant THRILL you!) We have made a few changes to allow for a smoother entry process and added tour guides to our troupes to increase guest capacity. Tickets are $10.00. KCC Music Faculty Artist Recital

Kellogg Community College will open its 2023-24 concert season this month with a KCC Faculty Artist Recital on campus in Battle Creek. The recital, which will showcase the high caliber artistry of KCC’s accomplished music faculty, will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, in the auditorium of the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center, on campus at 450 North Ave. The event is free and open to the public, though a freewill offering will be collected to support future music programming and initiatives at the College, including a planned concert tour of Austria in 2025. According to Dr. Gerald J. Case-Blanchard, director of vocal music and Music Area coordinator at KCC, “this recital promises to make your spirits soar.” Faculty artists will perform more than a dozen works demonstrating a wide variety of genres, styles and musical periods. The repertoire will range from classic works by G.F. Handel, J.S. Bach and others and will expand to new works including a solo piano piece composed and arranged by KCC faculty pianist Nancy D. Brown. “There will even be a bit of Broadway and beyond thrown in for good measure,” Case-Blanchard said. “There is truly something for everyone in this program.” […]
