Bask in this high-energy, colorful show featuring the majestic work of American composer Russell Peck, written for over 100 percussion instruments. Three guest musicians will highlight their talents, combining stunning orchestral colors and textures with pieces specially curated for you by Maestra Anne Harrigan and members of the orchestra. The party begins with Copland’s beloved Fanfare for the Common Man, sure to get you out of your seat. Enjoy a moving rendition of Gustav Mahler’s Adagietto from Symphony No. 5, a piece written as a love letter for his wife shortly after our founding in 1899. The excitement continues with Ravel’s La Valse, with its brilliant colors and explosions of light, and the finale of Sibelius’ triumphant 2nd Symphony.
