Brace yourselves for turbulence, because the Brass Band of Battle Creek makes their thunderous return to the W.K. Kellogg Auditorium May 18th, 2024 at 7:30 PM–with special guest, Lydia Harrel! Please ensure your tickets are secured and your seatbelts are fastened as our Pilot and Principal Conductor Michael Garasi begins our descent to Battle Creek. Joining us is Battle Creek native, Lydia Harrell, who will return to her hometown to accompany us at the Spring Concert. Now a resident of Boston and a member of the faculty at the renowned Berklee College of Music, Harrell grew up in Battle Creek where she attended Pennfield Schools and Kellogg Community College. Lydia’s list of career accomplishments includes winning both the 2015 Duke Ellington Jazz Vocal and 2017 Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival Voice Competitions, appearances with John Batiste and the Boston Pops, and singing the National Anthem at the Massachusetts gubernatorial inauguration. She won Best Song honors at the 48 Hour Film Project in Boston and sang on the 2022 Daytime Emmy-winning song “Grateful For It All.” Lydia has appeared in numerous commercials, films, and theater productions, including a role in the 2023 film “Boston Strangler.” The 2024 Spring Concert is in honor of […]

Each player will play 10 rounds, alternating your teammate & opponents every game! Breaks will be taken every third game. Cash prizes will be awarded. “Things That Fly” Exhibit by Kingman Collections

Take to the skies with Kingman Collections' newest exhibit, "Things That Fly" at the Art Center of Battle Creek from April 7 through May 25. Opening reception Sunday, April 7 @ 2-4pm. With support from W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, Battle Creek Bee Club, and Perfect Storm Comic and Gifts, we'll delve into the flight powers of bats, birds, and bugs, even superheroes from pop culture, with information on how each achieves flight in their own unique ways. "Things That Fly" coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Battle Creek Executive Airport, the longest running airport in the state of Michigan. We are honored to celebrate this milestone with them and others throughout our city this year! Art Center of Battle Creek is open Tues-Thurs and Sat @ 11am-3pm with free admission. Donations welcome. Also on exhibit will be landscapes by local artist Bill Williams.
