The Michigan Royal Weekend Cheer and Dance Competition

Kellogg Arena 1 McCamly Square, Battle Creek, MI

The Crown Cheer and Dance Championships was founded in 2016 by Kevin Spencer. The goal was to provide a great event with innovative awards, fair judging, family fun atmosphere and great customer service. All of this, while focusing on keeping everything affordable. The Crown has continued to grow tremendously each season by sticking to these core values. In late 2020, Emmitt Tyler joined Kevin as partners in The Crown. Our hope is that Emmitt’s experience partnered with Kevin’s passion will help create a new industry standard that will benefit athletes, coaches and parents alike. The Crown has exploded and had their best season to date despite dealing with the Covid pandemic. In early 2021, Emmitt and Kevin created the Royal Events Group which The Crown is proud to be a part of. Moving forward, Royal Events will continue to hold true to the original core values that built The Crown Cheer and Dance to it’s prominence. So when you come to The Crown or any Royal event, expect the ROYAL treatment! Adult Admission: $28.00 (per person) Kids Admission: Ages 5 and under are FREE

These two longtime friends, each an accomplished musician, combine to deliver a powerful message of love, friendship, and the celebration of diversity through roots music, which is defined as Folk, blues, Spirituals, Work Songs and chants. Their message is a presentation of how music weaves all of us in America and the world together using “common chords”, which have been interpreted in different ways to reflect the experiences through these different but similar genres of music.
