2023 Back to the Bricks Founder Promo Tour Car Show

Each June the Back to the Bricks® Annual Promo Tour provides an opportunity of adventure and camaraderie for hundreds of classic car owners. The six-day tour is designed to do two things: (1) promote all Back to the Bricks® events, especially the August “Main Event” car show held in downtown Flint, Michigan, and (2) showcase each participating city’s unique features and foster economic development. This upcoming tour will be no different. Kicking things off in Flint on Friday Morning June 9th, at Kettering University’s Atwood Stadium, participants will gather, mingle, catch up with old friends, grab a quick grab-in go breakfast compliments of ELGA Credit Union and get ready to hit the roads. The crew will head to Adrian Michigan from Flint for an evening Car Show. Then on Saturday June 10th, car participants take off from Adrian and head south to Auburn Indiana for a two night stay of fun, a downtown Car Show, more museums and comradery. To commemorate this incredible milestone, the band is returning to Festival Market Square, where it all began, for a special performance on Thursday, June 8th at 7 PM. Post Band, a beloved local institution, has entertained generations with their extraordinary musical talents. The upcoming concert promises to be a spectacular evening filled with nostalgia, exceptional melodies, and a celebration of the band's rich history. Please note that due to the unique nature of this event, audience members are kindly requested to bring their own chairs. Juneteenth Family Day

The celebration of Juneteenth began on June 19th, 1865, in Galveston TX. Juneteenth is a celebration that commemorates African American Freedom and the ending of slavery in the United States of America. In 2003, Battle Creek started Juneteenth celebrations, initiated by the Battle Creek NAACP. In 2005, Juneteenth became a State of Michigan holiday, designating the 3rd Saturday in June, as Juneteenth National Freedom Day. In 2021, Juneteenth was officially designated as a federal holiday and on March 1, 2022, the City of Battle Creek added Juneteenth as an official city holiday in Battle Creek. The Battle Creek Juneteenth Celebration Committee and the Southwestern Michigan Urban League announced in 2009 for the first time a combined event, which became Juneteenth Family Day. We are very excited to offer this celebration to the community in recognition of Juneteenth, families and especially the youth of Battle Creek.
