The Joe League Basketball Tournament

Kellogg Arena 1 McCamly Square, Battle Creek

We are so happy to announce The Joe League is here! The basketball League will begin Saturday, April 27th as a tournament for the first year. Located at the Kellogg Arena, Downtown Battle Creek, MI 49017. The tournament will begin at 9am and run until 3-4pm. Team cost is $230 per team. Registration will begin March 15th of this month and will end April 15th of next month. You can register with James Williams or Mario Brown if you would like to enter your team name for the league tournament. All proceeds will go towards the league and respective family. There will be a 1st place team trophy with Joe League Tournament Champion t-shirts, as well as a 2nd place team trophy to be presented at the end of the Championship Game. “Things That Fly” Exhibit by Kingman Collections

Art Center of Battle Creek 265 E Emmett St, Battle Creek

Take to the skies with Kingman Collections' newest exhibit, "Things That Fly" at the Art Center of Battle Creek from April 7 through May 25. Opening reception Sunday, April 7 @ 2-4pm. With support from W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, Battle Creek Bee Club, and Perfect Storm Comic and Gifts, we'll delve into the flight powers of bats, birds, and bugs, even superheroes from pop culture, with information on how each achieves flight in their own unique ways. "Things That Fly" coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Battle Creek Executive Airport, the longest running airport in the state of Michigan. We are honored to celebrate this milestone with them and others throughout our city this year! Art Center of Battle Creek is open Tues-Thurs and Sat @ 11am-3pm with free admission. Donations welcome. Also on exhibit will be landscapes by local artist Bill Williams.

Michigan Mysteries: The Search for Lost Ships & Aircrafts

Join us at the Battle Creek Regional History Museum for a very special presentation by shipwreck hunter Ross Richardson! Tickets are $5 and can be ordered online or picked up at the museum during hours of operation. This program is based on the popular website MICHIGANMYSTERIES.COM How many missing persons, missing aircraft and missing ships are there in the Michigan Region? Dozens? Hundreds? Try thousands! Explore some of the Michigan Region’s most mysterious disappearances and the histories surrounding them. This program includes shipwreck stories and documentation and updates on current searches for missing aircraft. Shipwreck hunter and author Ross Richardson has spent the last two decades exploring the bottom of the Great Lakes and discovering and documenting long lost shipwrecks. His website, michiganmysteries.com, is dedicated to the stories of the missing ships, missing aircraft and missing persons of the Michigan Region. Richardson is on the board of directors at the Maritime Heritage Alliance in Traverse City and spends his spare time researching the Great Lakes Region’s mysteries and building models of Great Lakes vessels.

RINGS Ministries CARnival and Car Show

Woodland Church 14425 Helmer Road S, Battle Creek

You and your family are invited to the RINGS CARnival family fun car show (at Woodland Church in Battle Creek, Saturday April 27 from 3 to 6 pm). Events feature a classic/custom car show, hot dog dinner, live music, inflatable games, and a ride in some of our favorite classic vehicles. $10 will get you and your car load into the festivities and/or enters your custom/classic vehicle into our show as well. Door prizes and show prizes will be given. Donations will be accepted. Proceeds will benefit RINGS' mission to Wrench, Bless and Repeat, through the gifting of transportation, in Calhoun County.
