International Museum Day: Battle Creek

May 18 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Every year since 1977, the International Council of Museums has organized International Museum Day, to raise awareness that “museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples”.

This year’s theme, “Museums, Education, and Research,” underscores the pivotal role of cultural institutions in providing a holistic educational experience. Museums serve as dynamic educational hubs, fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. From art and history to science and technology, museums and other collections are vital spaces where education and research converge to shape our understanding of the world.

For IMD 2024 we want to invite people to rethink education and imagine a future where knowledge sharing transcends barriers, where innovation unites with tradition. On May 18th, join us as we explore the wealth of knowledge our Battle Creek collections have to offer and, together, build a more informed and inclusive community!
