The Breaking Bred Bazaar is designed to create an open-air marketplace for makers in the Battle Creek Area to showcase their makings. We have curated a list of vendors from produce farmers to clothing designers. Boutique floral companies to handmade soaps. There also will be live music at every market from 9am-2pm. We want to build a flourishing market on Sundays in Downtown Battle Creek. Bazaars happen the last Sunday of every month, starting April 30 and ending in September.

Color the Creek is teaming up with the Battle Creek Disc golf association for the 3rd Annual Disc Golf Downtown event. We will turn the Linear Trail in Downtown Battle Creek into a Disc Golf Course for one day only! Come enjoy a day of fun in Downtown Battle Creek as we kick-off Color the Creek week! Registration is $20 and includes a custom disc and towel. Additional Artist-designed discs will also be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting Color the Creek Thank you to the City’s Small Business Development office for their support of this event!

Johnny “Jake” Collier Teach A Kid To Fish

Johnny “Jake” Collier passed away at home on February 17th 2022. Jake was a loving, kind man who was cherished by all who knew him. Jake was a lifelong fisherman. One of his wishes was to share his love of fishing with the youth of Battle Creek. The Collier Family has started a Memorial Fund and would like to honor Jake’s last wishes by gifting 60 fishing rods, some simple tackle, and fishing instructions to Battle Creek Kids. In partnership with the City of Battle Creek, MI Government Small Business Battle Creek, Battle Creek Parks & Rec Department, and Smitty's Sport Shop, the rods will be distributed and fishing instructions given on the shoreline of Goguac Lake on August 13, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon.
