This small parking fee helps contribute to the Leila Arboretum Society, and to ensure future events like this can continue. It is important to us that we otherwise maintain this to be a free event to the public.

Festivus 2024: The Cardboard Sled Competition
Leila Arboretum Society 928 W Michigan Ave, Battle Creek, MI, United StatesJoin us at Leila Arboretum on Saturday, FebruHairy 10th, for Festivus 2024: The Cardboard Sled Competition, and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of cardboard sledding at Leila Arboretum from 1 - 5 p.m. Hot dogs, chili, hot chocolate and adult beverages available for purchase! Sled registration begins at the Arboretum at 1 p.m., sleds run at 2:30 p.m. Prizes will be announced and awarded after all sleds run. Prize categories for youth and adults: • Best Run • Most Stachetastic (Most Moustache themed) • Leila's Choice • Worst Run • Best Wipeout Official Rules: FESTIVUS 2024: THE CARDBOARD SLED COMPETITION RULES 1. It's a CARDBOARD sled race. Sleds must be constructed using cardboard, adhesive and paint ONLY 2. Registration begins at 1 p.m. 3. Must show valid I.D. to purchase adult beverages 4. Safety first: Sledding is inherently dangerous. EVERYONE MUST SIGN A WAIVER. SLED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! ***HELMETS ENCOURAGED*** 5. Must be present to receive prize award. 6. HAVE FUN!!! Join us in the Fantasy Forest to explore the relationship between the Earth, Moon, and Sun through hands-on art and science activities. Don’t miss your chance to view a nearly Total Solar Eclipse in Battle Creek on April 8, 2024 at 3:11! An eclipse of this magnitude won’t occur in Battle Creek again until 2099.
