The Battle Creek Half Marathon and 5k is Battle Creek's only half marathon. With a unique course that lets runners run on airport runways, through the festival grounds of the Field of Flight, and through the quiet neighborhoods of Battle Creek and the Goguac Lake area. The Battle Creek Half Marathon and 5k is a culmination of the running community of Battle Creek and brings hundreds of participants and spectators from both near and far. We are excited to be bringing the Battle Creek Half Marathon and 5k to the area for the 5th year. The Cereal City Triathlon & Duathlon showcases the City of Battle Creek and its amenities. The event is hosted at the beautiful Willard Beach on Goguac Lake. With a flat and fast course, the Cereal City Triathlon and Duathlon is a great course to set your personal best. The course and event is perfect for beginners and experienced athletes looking for good competition, great views, and some sweet swag! The Cereal City Triathlon and Duathlon offers a sprint triathlon, a super sprint triathlon (ages 9-18) and a duathlon. All events can be done solo or as a relay of two or three people. Super Sprint Distances: Swim 400 meters, Bike 10K (6 miles), Run approx. 3K (2 miles) Sprint Distances: Swim 500 meters, Bike 20K (12 miles), Run 5K (3.1 miles) Duathlon Distances: Run approx. 3K (2miles), Bike 20K (12 miles), Run 5K (3.1 miles) This is one of the best courses around for a sprint distance triathlon, duathlon, or relay. The Cereal City Triathlon and Series is designed to give kids a taste of the world of multi-sport in a fun and non-intimidating way. There will be two course options to choose from based on ability level, not age. This event is a fun, untimed event. Our goal is to promote healthy, active kids and develop a love of multi-sport events. Parents are more than welcome to time their own children for those that have a competitive drive. Before the event, please practice with your children each of the three disciplines (swim, bike, and run) as well as transitioning from one event to the other (I.E. putting socks and shoes on wet feet, taking off helmets, etc.) The Cereal City KIDS Triathlon is geared specifically for kids ages 4-13. Kids will swim, bike and run within and around Willard Beach Park. All participants will receive a completion medal, a t-shirt and swim cap. Parents are welcome to join their kids on the course . Training wheels and swim aids are also allowed. The Cereal City KIDS Series includes a separate swim, bike, run event AND the triathlon.
