Coming to Downtown Battle Creek on Saturday, June 29th from 9 AM - 10 PM in Festival Market Square. The Village Network of Battle Creek will host Mardi Gras in the Creek, a celebration of collective liberation that will engage community members in downtown Battle Creek. The event will include a social gumbo, everything from wealth building listening sessions to a Family Feud game, a teen skating party, a panel discussion with local community champion Jeff Cotton of Big Homies, a Shrimp-N-Grits cookoff, a gala featuring a Lux Hair Show by Third, economic development strategy sessions, youth empowerment and more. Breaking Bred Bazaar is a Makers' Market Place located in the heart of Downtown Battle Creek. This event brings in over 40 vendors on the last Sunday of the Month From May - September. We will be bringing in entertainment such as Live Music, Bounce Houses, and a Free Caricature Artist and free roller skate rental. She performs regularly in the Toledo, Ohio and Southwest Michigan area and is a mentor and torch bearer for the strong jazz community that thrives in the midwest region.
