The Battle Creek Symphony presents “Be My Valentine” on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 7:30pm at the W.K. Kellogg Auditorium. Sleeping Beauty and Romeo and Juliet—music as melodic, dramatic, and passionate as love itself. With a guest appearance by the Grand Rapids Ballet, this concert is pure romance. Listeners will travel back in time with two star-crossed lovers, honoring Henri Mancini and Nino Rota with A Time for Us (The Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet.) The icing on the cake is the suite from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, one of the greatest ballet scores in musical history containing some of his most memorable and musical melodies. The orchestra will perform patriotic favorites such as Battle Hymn of the Republic, Requiem for a Soldier from Band of Brothers, and the Armed Forces Salute. The symphony will be joined by eight choirs from throughout the region to send a unified salute to veterans. This multimedia event includes a photo slideshow with photographs of our local veterans.
